Anyone else catch the news of Bernie throwing back on the old pinstripes?

TAMPA, Fla.: A pair of familiar faces have appeared at the New York Yankees' spring training camp for the first time this year: owner George Steinbrenner and outfielder Bernie Williams.

Steinbrenner arrived at about 10 a.m., was brought from the parking lot to Steinbrenner Field in a golf cart, then was transferred to a wheel chair near a bank of elevators before going up to his office. The 78-year-old has been increasingly frail in recent years.

Williams, who has not played since 2006, changed into uniform in the Yankees clubhouse and prepared to work out with the team. The 40-year-old, a five-time All-Star during 16 seasons with the Yankees, is getting ready to play for Puerto Rico in next month's World Baseball Classic.

What do you think guys, should this guy just stay retired, or be let back on the fields?

I was just reading an article about Rodriguez and his injury and was happy to see what Bernie contributed to the article.  It was nice to see someone looking at the more positive side of things, and being logical about it.  He was saying that he thinks that this break will give time for Alex to heal, not only physically, but emotionally as well. I think sometimes we all need to step back and realize that even if someone is a really important player, they are still just like you and me, and need to get away from it all now and then.  So I'm glad that Alex can get a break, and hopefully come back refreshed and better than ever.

Oh... and this was quite nicely snuck into the end of the article...

"As for Williams getting back, when asked if he still felt he had the ability to play in the majors now, he said, "I think the spring has treated me well. I'm healthy. I feel very strong. I've been facing a lot of the guys in the couple games (Team Puerto Rico) has played. I feel like I still have some life in my bat. I played the outfield a couple times. I've taken good jumps off the ball. So, if you ask me, I would say, 'Yeah.' But it's certainly not for me to decide."

Maybe.. just maybe... he'll be back?? Guess we'll just have to wait and see! But! If you don't feel like waiting to see him, you could always go see him at his live concert!  I just found out he's playing at Nokia Theater in Times Square on April 18th!  There's tickets on sale at ticketmaster.com and its on a Saturday so I think I'm gunna try to go.
